.about |
Mora & Fur Mora & Fur are an international duo mixing English and humour back into the Viennese. A music based cabaret creating worlds and pictures to take the audience out of this world and back again.
Their minimalist songs (always performed live) are darkly-funny, sarcastic, and sometimes melancholic, which draw on a wide range of musical styles. The live chemistry between Mora and Fur is an important part of the performance.
The duo was born in a Viennese art gallery in June 2002 but was not always based in Vienna: Elinor Mora moved from New York City in 1973 and Josh Fur left London in 2000. Mora & Fur are a unique and intimate experience from the smallest of art galleries to the village hall.
Mora-Fur-Kulisch Mora-Fur-Kulisch are a pop performance trio. When Mora & Fur mix beats and samples into their unique performance, with the addition of Hans Kulisch, they become Mora-Fur-Kulisch.
Their poetic effect is achieved by combining off-beat imagery and disposable pop psychology, revealing the village-like quality of high tech big city life. Their songs are fuelled by a sense that there's fun in ambiguity. They produce sly sardonic rhythms topped with happy jingles.
Pop is nothing to be ashamed of. |
